Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes, the countdown continues while the tab is in the background, though browsers may slow background timers slightly. Keep the tab open, since the timer state lives in the page and is not saved on a server.
Will it make a sound when it finishes?
Yes. When the countdown reaches zero it plays a short tone generated in-browser with the Web Audio API. You can mute it with the sound toggle. Most browsers require you to interact with the page first before audio can play.
What are the presets for?
The preset buttons (10s, 1m, 5m, 1h and more) load common durations with a single tap so you don’t have to type the hours, minutes and seconds each time.
