FAQ
Are the times accurate to the second?
Yes. The clock reads your device’s system time once per second and formats it for each city’s time zone. Accuracy therefore depends on your own clock being correct; the time-zone offsets themselves come from the browser’s up-to-date IANA data.
Do the clocks handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Each city’s GMT offset is derived from the IANA time zone database for the current date, so cities automatically show the right time when they enter or leave daylight saving.
Why does Beijing use the Asia/Shanghai zone?
China observes a single time zone nationwide, represented in the IANA database by Asia/Shanghai. It applies to Beijing and the rest of mainland China alike.
